The Lie About Emotions + How to Build a Business with Soul

Breaking toxic myths and unlocking the magic of food and beverage entrepreneurship

Drought

I watched a video earlier this week that was fed to me by the almighty algorithm and the main premise was that men shouldn’t talk about their emotions. They should just go to work, provide for their families, and move on to the next day.

Videos like these are upsetting to me for many reasons.

Knowing what it’s like to struggle with mental health all through my life which has led to many bad decisions, was linked to my inability to process emotions well.

I fear for those that take that advice seriously.

I’ve grown a lot in my life and I pride myself on my ability to process emotions NOW but my younger self had the emotional intelligence of a child throughout most of my adolescence and an adolescent through my early adulthood.

Be aware. Take heed my friends.

Emotions are good.

Abundance

I just scheduled 8 interviews with founders from incredible food, beverage, and CPG brands. These interviews will be on YouTube and Spotify soon and I can’t wait to share more.

Welcome to the Thirsty Friends Club!

More to come…

Indulgence

I’ve been asking a lot of you. Share this. Read this. Basically, I’ve turned into a toddler begging for attention.

Sadly, given the size of my brand and the attention we all use daily, it’s the only way I’ve rationalized in my brain. However, it’s not effective to just ask. There needs to be a reason.

Well, here’s my reason… I want to talk to more people and share more stories of founders and brands because I believe that cpg and food and beverage is still one of the most attainable frontiers in small business entrepreneurship.

Anyone can start a cafe. Anyone can start a new wellness supplement. Anyone can create a new milk tea drink. Anyone can be the next great brewer. Anyone can open a restaurant and serve their community a warm meal made with the very bits of their soul.

That’s not true in most other industries. Most other industries are soulless. Food is not. Beverage is not.

Help me grow so I can bring more of our favorite industry to life.

You can share on your Facebook page, your LinkedIn, your X, your Instagram… Heck, make sure you’re following me on those too!

This week has been an exhausting one for many reasons other than the obvious. Next week will be better.

Trust.
